Melted Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients

  • 1 cup (225 g) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup (200 g) brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup (100 g) granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups (250 g) wheat flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup (170 g) semi-sweet chocolate chips

Steps

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, mix the melted butter with the brown sugar and granulated sugar until well combined.
  3. Add the egg, egg yolk, and vanilla extract, and mix until smooth.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and mix until just combined. Do not overmix.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  7. Using an ice cream scoop or a large spoon, drop spoonfuls of dough onto the baking sheet, leaving space between each one.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the center is still a bit soft.
  9. Let cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
