Ingredients
- 100 g dark chocolate chips
- 120 ml heavy cream or whipping cream
- 1 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Steps
- Pour the cream into a small saucepan and warm it over medium heat until it just starts to simmer (tiny bubbles around the edges). Don’t let it boil.
- Remove the pan from the heat. Add the dark chocolate chips and let them sit in the hot cream for 1–2 minutes to melt.
- Whisk or stir gently until the chocolate is fully melted and the sauce looks shiny and silky.
- Stir in the butter (and vanilla, if using). This makes it glossy and smooth.
- If it’s too bitter, stir in a little sugar or honey while it’s still warm.
- Let it cool for a few minutes — it will thicken as it cools.
