Ingredients
- 2 ripe bananas
- 3 large eggs
- 3 tbsp melted butter
- 45 g melted butter
- 200 g regular all-purpose/plain flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1 pinch salt
- 1 tbsp sugar
Steps
- Preheat your Sage waffle maker on Classic, browning level 4.
- Mash the bananas until completely smooth.
- Whisk in the eggs and melted butter.
- In another bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, cinnamon and salt.
- Add the dry ingredients to the banana mixture and mix just until combined. Don’t overmix.
- Let the batter rest for 5–10 minutes. The flour will absorb some moisture and the waffles will cook better.
- Cook according to your Sage waffle maker’s portion guide.
- When it beeps, leave the waffles inside for an additional 30–60 seconds if they still look pale.
- Put them on a wire rack, never directly on a plate, so steam doesn’t soften the crispy exterior.
